It operates solely by reading the text content typed by the user in the WhatsApp Web message input field and sending it to the DeepL API for translation. The translated text is then inserted back into the message field. The DeepL API key provided by the user is stored locally in the user's browser and is never transmitted to any server other than DeepL's official API endpoints

Data Collection and Usage

The Extension does not collect any user information, browsing history, or personal data.

It does not track user activity or behavior on websites.

The only data stored is the user's DeepL API key, which is saved locally in the user's browser via Chrome Storage and is never transmitted to any server or third party other than DeepL for authentication purposes.

Message text is sent directly from the user's browser to the DeepL API for translation and is not stored, logged, or retained by the Extension.

No information is transmitted to our servers or to third parties other than DeepL for the sole purpose of translation.

Third-Party Services

The Extension uses the DeepL API (https://www.deepl.com) exclusively for text translation. The user's message text is sent to DeepL's servers for translation and is subject to DeepL's own Privacy Policy (https://www.deepl.com/privacy). No other third-party services are used.

Security

While the Extension does not collect any user data, we take the security of your browsing experience seriously. The DeepL API key is stored locally in the user's browser and is only used to authenticate translation requests. We do not store or retain any information about your messages or browsing activities.
